Will Rogers Health Center - Nowata, OK

Originally named the Nowata Primary Health Care Clinic, the facility was housed in a very small building. It was relocated in 1997 to a location within the community’s industrial park. While this facility offered more space, community demands quickly outgrew the new location. As a result, the Cherokee Nation undertook the construction of a new state of the art facility to meet growing demands and better serve its citizens. The new facility opened its doors in December 2007 as the Will Rogers Health Center.

William Penn Adair "Will" Rogers (1879-1935) was a Cherokee cowboy, vaudeville performer, humorist, social commentator and motion picture actor. Also known as "Oklahoma's Favorite Son," he was one of the world's most famous stars in the 1920s and 1930s.
