The Wilma P. Mankiller Health Center is the third largest of the tribally operated outpatient clinics and was initially planned to be the baseline from which all other health services were measured.
Wilma P. Mankiller (1945-2010) was the first female chief of the Cherokee Nation. She served as principal chief for ten years from 1985 to 1995. Her administration founded the Cherokee Nation Community Development Department. She was also the author of a national best selling autobiography, Mankiller: A Chief and Her People.Scope of Service:
Pediatrics and internal medicine, dental, optometry, physical therapy, pharmacy with mail order, laboratory, radiology, nutritional services, mammography, health promotion and disease prevention, public health nursing, women infants and children (WIC), contract care, behavioral health and translation services in the Cherokee language.Hours of Operation:
